None same as last time sodo not expect much

Original review Apr 24, 2020
Year before our Motor home was broken into and people stayed in it using the bathroom and eating the food in the cabinets. We were told they had been caught and was not the norm since it is fenced all the way around. We decided it was safe again so this year I just picked it up and found the battery dead but had just driven it 2 weeks ago to get the inspection done. Jumped it off and it sounded like a tank. Come to find out the catalectic converter was cur our. When I told them they sounded SO surprised and then I called in to get a police report and the officer stated they had several calls about the converters being taken. I then called them back and asked why they sounded so surprised!!! The person said she had only heard of one other one. These people lie so good it is scary. The dock is destroyed and the electric system is so compromised that they have several of the best sights shut down. They always say there is a new person here that will have it fixed this year but they lie about that as well. Stay away from there if you value your belongings. The sound it had to make to cut all these convertors out must of been horrendous yet not one person there heard 1 thing??? They are part of the gang if you ask me. All in all a terrible dilapidated place to stay

Not letting local membership into park for day use

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I live in Bandera county in TX. I am a member of Thousand trails am being discriminated against the corporation because I use it for day use. Bandera has a very small amount Covid-19 cases under 20. This is what really gets me..TT s allowing members from other states and is still showing the park to anyone who wants to buy a membership, yet I live literary 3 miles (ca. 5 kilometers) away, yet I am and many others that just want to fish or go for a walk or whatever we want to do are not allowed access to the park. There is NO reason for this. Some of us are contemplating a class action suit for this behavior. I am basically paying 500 dollars a year for a service I can not use. I am beyond disgusted with this discrimination. Before this I would have highly recommended TT but now run don't walk away from this company.

You're in TX. You're coming and going, daily.

Not in a rig. Makes you a higher risk. Your pass is NOT a daily pass, it is an annual pass. For camping.

Actually surprised you've gotten away with 'day use' this long. COVID safety issues in TX are at the discretion of the business owner/management.

Stop whining about victimhood... lots if fishing holes

Hello, Michelle C. We have also been mistreated by Thousand Trails and dealt with unprofessional staff who don’t do their jobs and have retaliated against us for simply making a complaint.

A class action suit is exactly what is needed here.

Please contact me at semblancemediallc@***.com Let us discuss and see if we can get people their money back and get some just here. Thank you.

Supention of our membership for allegedly giving gate code to other TT members

Our Thousand Trails membership was suspended in late June for 30 days for allegedly giving the gate code out. This is absolute nonsence.

On that day the electricy was off in the park and the gate was wide open because of this, anyone could of come through that gate, but because this person is a personal friend of ours the "management " Kiristan, Lisa Marie, decided that we had giving this person the gate code. This person is also a member of thousand trails and knows lots of people in the park. But she didn't

need a code because the gate was open when she came through. We were " suspended" for thirty days for something that was not our doing, any number of people this persons friends, neighbors from TT could of given her the number, I know we did not. And like she told us she came through the gate because it was "already open and no one was in the gate house".

This was an unfair way for us to be treated. We have been members for several years and they have been through many employees during the time we have been there, these people are very bias about there management practices, they look for reasons to "violate" some people just because of personal feelings, they accuse people of awful things with no proof, that is slander, and yet other people re: their friends and relitives our allowed to have "personal favors" ( getting in with no registration or insurance, in awful looking RVs) , we have also been told that the employees are sent on "whitch hunting" missions to find violations if they are not that busy that day. We don't go outside we live inside even though its a campground,we don't want to get a violation and be suspended, we keep in mind that this "suspension " could and has been very detrimental to our lives, my husband has COPED and suffers greatly in the heat and from continually having to move our Rv there are no other places to go in our area, so we had very carefully gotten a system together so that we would never be in a position as to be without running water, electricity and such, my husband especially, and I have suffered greatly from this Supination not only health wise but financially from this as we had a careful plan so that he would not be ever exposed to the 100 degree heat and the effort it takes to move. Now we are out alot of money and my husbands health had suffered greatly.

We were counting on thousand trails in our life plan to just be fair and treat us as the members that we are as we have always abided by their rules, changing depending on who you are related to or how they, the management , especially. Kirsten and LisaMarie, feel about you personally.

I went and talked to the manager Kiristan and she addmited to me that yes the gate was open that day and it could have been a mistake but we still got suspended, and a black mark on our record.

This is a TT campground that should be skipped by anyone who wants a good place to stay.Very poor customer service, very bias and backbiting employees. Just all around poor quality place, lousy maintancance of grounds, bathrooms not cleaned or maintained lousy staff not a good place, unsafe in alot of ways, not handicap accessible at all I could go on and on.

A couple key issues skipped... What was the campground name?

Did you notify office of visitors snd name(s), as required by the rules, prior to arrival? Did something else happen that they became aware she was illegally on the property? Did your friend follow the directions on the sign, that says "all visitors must sign in at ... (office)" before entering?

You as the member are responsible for your visitors/party members behavior regarding following the member and camp rules. She didn't enter on a day pass, so she was entering under your membership--your responsibility. Assuming she entered in a vehicle, there was a failure to obtain the vehicle pass which is generally required of all vehicles but certainly of all visiting vehicles. Both you and she are members, so both of you know or should know the rules for visitors!

Without being told the suspension reason(s), here's a few that could be: 1.Friend trespassed by entering private property without authorization by management. 2. You, the member, failed to follow the rules for accepting visitors. 3.

Upon arrival at your rig, you, the member, failed to notify the staff your visitor had arrived and entered on her own volition. After all the years of thousands of monthly complaints and notifications to staff across the TT system nationally, that staff speed through the parks looking straight ahead, are lazing around not doing their jobs, and violators are not being noticed much less sanctioned despite being reported/written complaints by aggravated and disgusted Rule-abiding, etiquette-abiding heavily-invested members, YOUR complaint is that the staff is actually WORKING to identify violations so as to improve the park environment for all members????? Get a portable generator, COPD electricity issue solved. Oxygen tanks do not require electricity.

A nebulizer can be run off of a generator. Leave the region that has unacceptable weather for his condition. Get an apt /park home with consistent electricity. If you have no violations, it should be a comfort to you that your safety is important to the staff, that is not a reason to hide out inside.

And while I feel for your distress, much of it was self-induced (delineated above). You knew there would come a time that moving every 2 weeks was not going to be physically possible, and know that the current 'retirement plan' issue isn't meeting current health needs.

Time to re-evaluate your plans, so you can dial down your panic. Senior services or VA if he's a vet, are good resources.

Lacking customer service and maintenance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Hours on the phone to make or change resverations, failing infrastructure at campgrounds, loss of power and water common. If you call the campground office they tell you to deal with it, water was off for 16 hours at one park! I left a bad review and was told to take it down or get suspended. So add extortion to the list of their faults.

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
iToday, 4/30/20, I received a Dues Statement from your office indicating an outstanding/outrageous amount due that included an increment in monthly dues, late fees, and an out of consent years commitment. Unbelievable! Starting at 10:32 am, I made four (4) attempts at reaching the number to customer service (800)388-****, and was disconnected/hung up on after waiting for more than 42 minutes at a time to reach one of your representatives. This was extremely frustrating, but my urgency to figure out what the charges were about, convinced me to call yet again. At 3:58, I placed my fifth (5)call. Having explained the reason behind my call, your representative "Felix" rudely replied that I wasn't the only person unable to pay my bills on time and that there was nothing he or anyone at this company could do. I began to explain that I needed clarification on what had changed within my contract. He interrupted me numerous times and kept repeating "Ma'am we don't do that here. No one does that here." His condescending tone and my previous frustration in waiting so long to speak with someone reasonable truly upset me. I told him he needed to listen to me and let me explain, but he told me I was being rude and trying to talk over him. Of course I was! Felix was trying to push an unrealistic response and quickly get rid of me.style=" I had spent almost 5 hours in resolving a payment ---WOW!! As I understand it, their representatives are encouraged to be helpful and listen to our concerns or at least offer respect, not be dismissive and downgrade our situations when its uncomfortable enough to reach out for a solution in these times. I finally asked to speak to someone else or have someone else call me, he said he couldn't transfer me or have someone call me. He told me to call back and see if I could reach someone else. I did and waited an additional 54minutes just to realize he had lied to me when I heard him answer the line. I asked to speak with someone else, he said there was no one else, therefore, I declined to speak with him at this point. If this company values customers and loyalty, this individual should NOT be part of their customer service at all! **I also believe it to be UNFAIR that we as consumers to this business are required to pay dues on time when this business has not been able to provide services to the public either from COVID or the closure of Highway 243 lately. (It's like a gym collecting dues when they're closed--unbelievable!)

Dues are annual obligations, which may be paid in monthly installments for extra payment fees. Dues are not determined by your usage or lack of use.

Members have dues.

Camping Pass (zone pass) holders have annual renewal fees, not dues. Camping Pass renewal fees are also not determined by your usage ir lack of use.

They won't cancel my membership and they autocharged renewal

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We were fairly satisfied with the service for the year we signed up, but due to family circumstance we cannot camp this year and multiple calls, emails, requests to not renew went unanswered-apparently they auto renew if "they don't hear from you to cancel" but when you try to cancel, for months, they do not cancel and then say you are late with payment and autocharge the card you initial paid with the year before. I am very disappointed with them not cancelling when it was requested, had to cancel my cc and file a complaint.

I did what member service advised me to do, email to cancel, but they say they never got requests. I have many emails to prove it.I requested cancellation over a month before renewal due. I was going to renew next year, but will not after bad experience with them not renewing as I requested cancellation multiple times. I am still trying get cancelled.

Once you sign up, they continue to auto-renew, no way to get them to respond to repeated attempts to cancel. Been working to cancel for couple months now.

And today they charged my credit card to renew. Bad business practice.

User's recommendation: Don't due it, they will auto renew and go after you even if you cancel ahead of time as requested. They are unresponsive if you want to cancel. They auto renew and put in on your charge card. No way to cancel.

Solution to the auto renew charges: After your account is set up, use a low $ Visa/MC/Amex gift card number that you've spent all but $1-2 so it remains active (be sure the expiry date is a few years away) to replace your cc. If you renew, you can do the payment with your cc online.

But if you cancel and they didn't honor or process your valid request, then when the falsely charge you the renewal fee it will be declined by the gift card vendor due to insufficient funds. This puts control of YOUR money back into YOUR hands.

They'll answer the phone when the auto charge is declined. Works well for all auto renews

Welcome to my 6k membership. Lake Conroe has prime sites available. See pictures. Stepping out of my RV I sank 4 in the mud, I then proceeded to haul rocks from road and other sites to get me out of the mud. Hello Thousand Trails a few loads of rock could go a long way here. We are not experiencing heavy rain at this time. Could be really bad if it pours. Jacks have now sunk below ground level in the mud.

No one will answer the phone. Just keep getting a recording that we will call you back tomorrow and no does. The only line you can wait on hold is if you chose that you want to pay them money. All other calls go to the world's worst phone tree. Save your money, this is not worth the dues. The sales pitch we had was a fairy tale that has never come true.

If you are a member and you have a reservation, you are contracted as "guaranteed" for a site with PHU (30 amp & water). What is not guaranteed is 50 amp or FHU (sewer). Tent sites may have electric and/or water on each site, or may not.
